Hi!
What are your favorite pieces to swing/lindy to and why? Do you like pieces that are faster? Do you prefer a slow groove? Are there songs that just make you smile? Songs that make you feel sexy?
Thoughts?
I'm fond of
Several tracks on Live in Swing City by the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra -- most notably c-jam blues because it is so damned sexyfun!
Also love to dance to "It Ain't the Meat" because it is a fun tempo and because it is intrinsically playful to dance to with a little bit of spicy because of the lyrics.
More will come to mind I'm sure but I thought this might be a fun thread to start.

I just got into Lindy Hop, and east coast. I haven't really found any music yet, but I like the idea of goth swing...

Although this is totally boriing, I have to admit I like like the Frank Sinartra standards like ... "Fly me to the Moon" and "Luck be a Lady"

Most of Swing Session numbers (or Stompy Jones now), Indigo Swing, some Royal Crown Revue. Lee Press-On and the Nails is fun to dance to. Love the standards though, like Franky and Dean. Beyond the Sea is one of my all time favorites.
For blues though, have to go with Ray Charles as the favorite. I got a great track from Hooker done with Santana called Chill Out and a B.B. King with Ray Charles doing Beggar's Prayer, which is a fantastic song. Also, Jessica Rabbit's song from Who Framed Roger Rabbit is a lot of fun to dance to.
